Venue Research:

Is it available for your chosen date?
Will it accommodate all your guests?
Is it close to your ceremony venue?
Is the price within your budget?
Will there be other weddings taking place on the same day?
Does it have caterers – if not do they recommend caterers to suit your style of wedding?
Can you move furniture or pictures?
Is there accommodation for your guests and will you get a discounted rate. If not can the venue provide you with a list of recommended accommodation in the nearby area?
Are you able to have a marquee, band, candles, fireworks?
If you want can you have a late bar?
Does the quoted price include VAT and service charge?

Dress Research:

Is there a fee for trying on dresses?
Will other girls be trying on dresses at the same time as you?
How long is your appointment?
Is there a maximum number of dresses you can try on?
How many people can you bring with you?
How long should you allow to have your dress made?
How much do alterations cost?
How many fittings will you have?
What do you need to bring with you?
Are co-ordinating accessories available?
Do you need to pay a deposit and when do you need to pay the balance?
Do you need to collect your dress when it is ready or can it be delivered?

Questions to ask your Photographer:

Does the photographer have a website you can look at to view their previous work?
Do they shoot on film or use a digital camera?
Is their style of photography reportage (less formal) or traditional (posed)?
How many pictures will they take?
Who will have the copyright of the pictures?
How long will the photographer stay on the day?
Will they visit the venue beforehand?
How long after the wedding will you receive your photographs?
How do their fees work (per shot or per package)?
Will there be access to the photographs on line?

Questions to ask your Caterer:

Can menus be mixed and matched?
Do they have any testimonials from previous clients?
Can they adapt their menus to fit within your budget?
Do they offer a menu tasting service and is there a charge?
What exactly do they include e.g. waiting staff, table linen, crockery, cutlery?
Do they provide alcohol or can you supply your own (if so what corkage will be charged)?

Questions to ask your Cake Maker:

Can you see examples of their work?
Can you sample cake fillings?
Can they make any cake for you or do they specialise is certain styles?
Is there a minimum spend?
Can you have mixed-flavour layers?
When and how will you pay?
Are they able to transport and set up the cake at the venue or is this your responsibility?

Questions to ask your Florist:

Can you see examples of their work?
Are they recommended by any particular venues?
How many other weddings will they be doing on the same day?
Will the person you speak to be the actual person doing the flowers?
Is there a maximum distance they will travel to dress the venue?
What are they payment terms?
How much notice do they need in order to confirm your order?
How long do they need to set up?

Questions to ask your Entertainment Provider:

If a DJ – how versatile is their play list?
Band – How long is the set and do they play recorded music in between the breaks?
Can they provide examples of their work or can you go and view them in action?
Will they have any catering requirements that will need to be added to your final head count?
Do they need a room to get changed?
How long do they need to set up?
What, if any, technical requirements do they have (eg plug sockets)?
